It is with this sharp understanding of our clientele that we have developed Mag-Wind, a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (or VAWT) that fits all of the specified needs of our customers. Affordable but beneficial, this modern windmill is capable of producing 5 kilowatts of power or more at modest wind speeds.

These turbines can be placed on top of the average house. In fact, the shape, slope, and size of your roof can actually increase the energy production of the turbines. Aside from the available wind, the two major variables that determine how much energy can be generated are the vertical rise of the roof and the pitch, or angle, of the roof.

The more rise there is, the more wind will hit it and be guided upward towards the VAWT, the more energy will be generated. However, the steeper the roof is, the more wind energy will be wasted in pressure against the roof and wind moving around the roof, the less energy will be generated. Nonetheless, a 10% vertical rise in the roof and 30% angle will provide a nearly 200% increase in energy production.
